Laser Engraving and Welding Machines Selection Guide
Laser Engraving Machine
A laser engraving machine is an efficient tool for creating various types of markings, utilizing a laser beam to engrave or mark a wide range of materials with precision. By using a non-contact processing method, it can etch clear patterns, text, and logos on surfaces like metal, plastic, wood, and more. The machine ensures that the markings are durable and long-lasting. Whether it’s for product serial numbers, logo designs, or manufacturing dates, laser engraving machines offer high precision and flexibility, making them ideal for industrial production, advertising design, and everyday product customization. With advantages like fast speed, ease of use, no need for consumables, and being environmentally friendly, they greatly enhance both the efficiency and quality of marking production.
How to choose a laser engraving machine suitable for you?
1,Determine the material properties of your product to preliminarily determine the type of laser light source.
- The light sources of laser engraving machines are divided into fiber laser, UV laser, and CO2 laser. The advantages of the three lasers are different. Fiber laser is more suitable for all metal materials, such as stainless steel, carbon steel, iron, aluminum, gold, silver, copper, etc. At the same time, it can also engrave leather, rubber, stone, paper, common uncomplicated plastics, etc.;
- Ultraviolet laser is a cold light source, which can be absorbed by common materials, so the UV laser engraving machine can engrave on all common materials, such as metal, plastic, leather, rubber, wood, glass, acrylic, leaves, ceramics, etc., to achieve the characteristics of small damage to the surface of the material, but its engraving depth is very shallow, not as deep as the fiber laser engraving machine and CO2 laser engraving machine;
- CO2 laser is suitable for engraving of all non-metallic materials, and can achieve the effect of no discoloration of engraving marks, and is very friendly to materials that need to be colored later, such as acrylic, textiles, glass, ceramics, seafood, fruits, complex synthetic plastics, etc.
2,Determine the maximum size of what you need to mark.
- The range of content that can be engraved by a laser engraving machine is limited. The engraving range of our company’s standard laser marking machine is 110*110mm. The size of the content that needs to be engraved within this range can be adjusted arbitrarily, and the minimum can be 0.4mm. If you need to engrave a larger size, you need to increase the power of the laser marking machine and configure a laser lens with a larger engraving range.
- The standard lens range of our company’s handheld laser marking machine is 110*110mm, which can be applied to 20w/30w/50w handheld laser engraving machine models. The maximum marking range can be customized to 150*150mm engraving range, and the power of the laser needs to be increased to 30w/50w.
- The standard engraving range of the fiber laser engraving machine is also 110*110mm, and the applicable laser power is 20w/30w/50w/other customization. If the engraving range needs to be larger, a 200*200mm/300*300mm laser lens needs to be configured, and a 30w/50w laser needs to be configured at this time.
- The standard engraving range of the UV laser engraving machine is also 110*110mm, and the applicable laser power is 3w/5w/other customization. If the engraving range needs to be larger, a 200*200mm/300*300mm laser lens needs to be configured, and a higher-power laser needs to be configured, at least 5w power.
- The standard engraving range of CO2 laser engraving machine is 110*110mm, which is suitable for 35w/60w laser. If the engraving range needs to be larger, it is necessary to configure a 200*200mm/30*0300mm laser lens. The 200*200mm laser lens can also be applied to 35w/60w laser, but if the engraving range is 300*300mm, a 60w CO2 laser is required.
Laser welding machine
Laser welding is a precise method for merging metal components through the use of a laser light beam. It has found widespread applications across various industries, particularly in automating small-component welding, where its tight control eliminates the need for post-weld cleanup. This technology is most advantageous in sectors such as automotive, aerospace, and electronics, where precision and efficiency are paramount. This article will delve further into the workings of laser welding, its processes, types, and associated advantages.
How to choose a laser welding machine suitable for you?
1,Determine the type of material that needs to be welded and choose the appropriate welding wire
- Laser welding machine can weld with different welding wires according to different materials. It can weld common metal materials, copper, iron, aluminum, stainless steel, carbon steel, etc.
2,Choose the appropriate laser welding machine power according to the thickness of the metal material you are engraving.
- Laser welding machines are more suitable for welding thin metal plates. Generally, the maximum thickness that can be welded by a 1000-watt model is 3 mm, the maximum thickness that can be welded by a 1500-watt model is 5 mm, and the maximum thickness that can be welded by a 3000-watt model is 8 mm.
